The Salem community will soon benefit from a generous and lasting gift, and residents need to say “thank you” to the Rotarians who are laboring to make this donation possible.
Residents will also need to hold the city of Salem accountable for maintaining the Rotary gift, and ensuring it doesn’t prevent residents from using their beloved Riverfront Park.
The Rotary Club of Salem will usher in its 100th anniversary in 2020. In searching for a project to mark the milestone, the club decided to tap its members to raise $1.5 million without cannibalizing its other community philanthropies.
